I was talking to my wife a few days ago and we shared that this time of year is our favorite season.
The cooler temperatures, the change of colors, football…. To me atleast it appears that winter and summer last forever but that when it comes to Fall, it’s here and it’s gone. It’s kinda funny because I just celebrated a pretty significant birthday (The big 3-0) and I appear to have the same thoughts about that as I do with fall. IT JUST GOES BY TOO QUICK!
The truth is that 30 is just a number and just like the seasons, the days will come and go. Here’s to enjoying those crisp mornings in October, the laughter of your daughter as she falls in your arms as she hugs you goodbye, and quiet moments with only you and God in His wonderful creation.
So I celebrated my birthday a few days ago…. It’s hard to imagine that I’m one year away from the big 3-0.
I’ve been blessed with an amazing 29 years and reflecting its hard to not to see God’s hand in all of it. Family, friends, job, church, life, etc. …Long story short I’ve been blessed with so much in this short time. I can only hope that my next 29 equals what this has been like.
8 days ago God blessed us with a precious little angel. Evelyn Grace Loveday was born July 10th and 10:09 pm. She weighed 7 lbs and was 20 inches long.
We are so overjoyed and in love with the this little girl. God is SO Good!
After 9 months of planning and preparing…. We wait this last little bit out.
Tonight? Tomorrow? A week from now? …
All I know is that whenever Miss Evie Grace decides to make her appearance, her Momma and I will be ready! 🙂
…must come to an end.
I’m sure we all have heard that saying at least once in our life. The last several weeks this has kept coming up in my head. Why you ask?… Well, long story short: After the death of my Great Grandmother, my Family is selling the farm that’s been apart of my family for almost 70+ years. Now, This farm isn’t just a piece of property, it holds a special place in my heart. You see this is where I spent a majority of my childhood. Growing up I can still remember running from one end of it to the other….exploring, working, living. I remember going to the barn with my papaw to get fresh eggs… Helping plant a garden… My first hunt… and kill…. Learning how to mow. Not only was this place a first for physical accomplishments for me… I saw love… Dedication… Hard work… Most importantly I saw what it meant to be a family here. I guess that is why I’m having such a tough time letting go. My papaw has been gone now almost 17 years and my Mamaw going on 2. It seems like yesterday that they were both here with us. I understand that life goes on, but it’s tough saying goodbye. I’m thankful that both knew Christ and are now reunited with him and each other. I’m thankful to have those precious priceless memories that I wouldn’t give up for anything. I’m thankful that even though I won’t be able to physically visit this special place anymore that I have the promise to be reunited with them some day in heaven.
So today we say goodbye…. But only for a short while….For tomorrow is a new day.
